THE HOTEL IS REALLY LOVELY, BUT THE MEAL SPOILED THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE

tHE HOTEL IS IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING, SURROUNDED BY MONTAINS. ROOMS WERE NICELY APPOINTED AND I REALLY ENJOYED THE LOVELY BIG BATH.

UNFORTUNATELY OUR MEALS WERE REALLY TERRIBLE. WE HAD DINNER THERE AND THE BURGER WAS SO TOUGH, WE COULD HARDLY EAT IT. MEALS ALSO TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO ARRIVE, EVEN THOUGH THE RESTAURANT WAS NOT FULL

Relaxing with a few hiccups.

Isolation, scenic, quiet, great breakfast.

Broken fridge in room, kettle that didn’t work (power point broken), no support service, very slow food service but quality was good.

I love Vulintaba. Perfect for rest getaways and stress therapy.

This was our second stay. The location is amazing. The mountain view was spectacular. We took a 2 hour walk around the golf course, and rested next to the river listening to the water. The sounds of nature with the views were therapeutic. The decor is beautiful, and the sofas in the lounge facing the mountains are perfect for reading and relaxing.

We stayed in room 403, and our door would not close easily. The door lock hooks, and you have to pull it hard, resulting in the door slamming. I noticed that some of the other doors on our floor would do the same. But when you close from the inside it closes easily. This will obviously be annoying especially if you’re trying to sleep in.

Some fantastic and some disappointing aspects

The decor in the hotel is very well done! The scenery is breathtaking The staff is well trained and a pleasure.

Room 202 has no door in the bathroom. There is no privacy when doing ones ablutions. The hot water tap at the sink is broken. Water still comes out,it just swivels around the tap base. The shower function to switch from hand held shower to wall shower head is also broken The food leaves a lot to be desired. We had to travel to eat at the Golden Goose. We ordered steak. It was tough and lacked flavor as if it had been frozen for many years. The butternut soup was over powered with herbs and garlic one couldn’t actually taste the butternut in the soup.

Overall it was a great stay.

The breakfast was not great, given the kind of facilities available you would hope for a better spread. Really underwhelming.

The breakfast was my least favourite. I wished there could have been more activities available at the campus. it would have really helped.

Good place, good facilities: bad service at the kitchen

Breakfast was late, dinning hall not cleaned, tables dirty. We had to complain to get tables cleaned, We were walking on broken bottles that were not swept away from the floor of the breakfast serving area. Staff was apprehensive when I complained. Kitchen staff totally unfriendly. Serious lack of proper supervision. I had a benefit of understanding their language and overheard the negative comments about our complaints. Beautiful, value for money and very underrated!

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel. The chef is brilliant, the spa ladies are fabulous and Bongiwe was wonderful!!!

The cleaning stuff forces you to tip them.

More experienced staff should be hired to cope even when hotel is busy.

The food was nice but getting utensil was the problem. The property is beautiful, rooms are clean.

GPS gave us wrong turn off on the gravel road, R34 road from Johannesburg. I would prefer that hotel put the same sign they put on the second turn off. The fact that the whole hotel with 69 rooms has only 7 irons, we had to wait for more an hour to get an iron and there was no one bother to keep us updated, with us keep on calling which felt like nagging.

We had a lovely time, we will visit again but we'll have to make sure there's no wedding.

The location is perfect and the staff were friendly especially Thuli in reception, Zanele the waitress and the Chef. They were able to meet all our needs. I also loved the peace and quiet of the area.

I wish the wedding reception hall was separate from the hotel (closer to the chapel). The hotel guests can't enjoy a lazy afternoon at the pool if there's a wedding. The noise levels are vey high when the wedding guests are around the hotel or reception area. Hotel guests go there for some quiet time and it gets noisy with wedding guests and their kids running around the reception area.
